Video creation made easy with illusto
I normally dont like tools which promise a lot of things but then as soon as you purchase, issues arise. Support is none existent. The tool is very slow and lags significantly. I had raised this issue a long time ago but till date heard nothing. No updates or improvements which is sad.
I just tried to create a basic video with 1 image, 2 lines of text, a logo, and a soundtrack.
I spent over an hour putting all that into the canvas and manipulating about 4 seconds (!) of the video, and the browser glitched.
After reloading the page, the canvas was all messed up and not usable anymore, even if it auto-saves after every single click.
It's a pain to drag and drop elements to canvas. At least, they should disable text highlight (a.k.a. select text) which stays in the way all the time.
Why is this Illusto still so glitchy?
I bought it about 5 months ago and I hoped it would become a good video editor, but it's still not usable at this point.
It is too slow, it's lagging, it's glitching, and the auto-save feature is obviously useless.
And the support didn't answer my recent ticket.
IS THIS TOOL STILL DEVELOPED OR ABANDONED?
If I could get a refund, I would do it without a blink of an eye.
Dear @appsumo, the 60-day refund period has obviously become obsolete. Please, reconsider prolonging it to 6 months, so shady founders can't fetch funds and f**k off.
For whatever reason it decided one day not to work as fluidly as it had been since purchasing, approx. three weeks after purchase. Customer service was a welcome relief.
I'm so glad I got this deal! It has become my go to video editor. The library of videos is (obviously) amazing and the functionality of the editor - impressive!
Illusto has earned its place as my go-to video editing solution. Its user-friendly interface, comprehensive feature set, creative capabilities, and reliable performance make it an ideal choice for content creators of all levels. I highly recommend Illusto to anyone seeking a powerful and versatile video editing tool with huge sets of stock library that delivers outstanding results.
I really wanted this to be a keeper, but I dropped a comment here before about the new version kicking me out continuously. I left Illusto on the shelf for a bit to see if this was resolved. Tonight I jumped in again to make some vidz. The same issue occurs. I'm working (Macbook Air M2, new / Chrome Browser) on a video for ten minutes. it just kicks me out. Hugely frustrating and time wasting. If this #1 critical issue isn't being resolved, and its mentioned by others, I think the developers have introed the product way to soon. And as the 'kick out' issue is actually on the new version, that's more worrying about platform stability. I'll give it a couple of days to hear devs response and then decide.
im impressed with the GUI of Illusto and the promise to expand its platform from being a typical vanilla video editor. If you are looking for a capcut alternative with the upside of having this deal lifetime and with all featured future updates which looks promosing for illusto you will not regret your purchase. i can wait to see developments in AI and in social media intergration as well as adding premium stock images, videos and more moder LLM AI generators.
The future looks promosing keep at it Illusto team!!!
This application is not yet ready for production; its user interface resembles something from the late '90s, and loading times can be sluggish. While some reviews may seem overly positive, it still has room for improvement before it matches traditional desktop applications' performance. It's important to remember that cloud-based GPU processing typically tends to be slower. These type of applications needs to have an asset library that can be in "actual" usage rather than amplifying propaganda. Assets are unusable and extremely slow. I am giving 2 stars for the effort, but it is still very far from usable. There were two instances where I worked on my project for almost 3 hours, and it logged me out without reason and lost all editing of the previous 1.5 hours.
This app is helping me change my Social Media Game. Thank you.
I too would like to see a mobile version - let's hope that is in the pipeline.
It's fast and does editing on the fly. Had a few bugs on the newest version which they worked to get fixed. Excited to see this continue.
The output is really fast even for 4K. It's cloud based so no more taking up resources on the computer when it comes to the extra processing. Also export can be done in the background or just left to be done after you close the window so it gets processed regardless of whether you turned off the computer.
They seem open to and accepting of suggestions and really responsive so if they keep that up they will grow quickly be a big competitor for others out there.
Now for the only negative I can think of:
Biggest Con would be they do need a mobile version because when on the road and I need to get something done I do it from my phone. Even if they just migrate the earlier version to a phone app that would work for me.
Just keep polishing and adding more. You started from where others stopped so you have a chance to become the cloud video editor of choice used by enterprises everywhere. All the best!
Easy to use and a fair amount of assess perfect for new businesses but potential to be great.
