The #1 brand for teleprompter software
It's the only teleprompting app I use because of its scroll to voice feature.
It's not that this software doesn't work... it just that there's no need to buy it if all you need is a teleprompter that moves the script with your voice. You can do that free at sites like this https://telepromptermirror.com/voice-activated-teleprompter/.
Needs a lot of improvement. It often doesn't catch words. 2 tacos for effort.
I hate that my very first review here is negative, but I really wanted this app to work. I was looking for an alternative to BigVu. This doesn't sync the website account to my PromptSmart Plus app (Yes, I downloaded the purple one in the Play store). I'm using a Galaxy S22 Ultra. I type in a script on the computer and then it is not accessible on the app. (Maybe that was an extra fee, and I missed that).
I clicked on the gear to adjust the font (make it smaller, change speed, change color) and it won't take. Go to record and the font still defaults back to the large black font. Now it's just spinning and frozen as I type this. I will have to restart it again to get it to stop, but I'm probably just going to uninstall it.
But to end on a positive note, I've been on a good run with many of the other software I have purchased from AppSumo. Many have been great for me, and I'll make sure to go back and leave a positive review on those. But this PromptSmart app is definitely not working for me. Maybe it works better with iPhones.
This app is a must if you’re using a prompter. It saved me a lot of time.
It’s a bit confusing at first on how to get it working between the web app and the different apps, but once it’s done. It’s just a pleasure to record.
Before it was stressing, always playing with the remote to slow down or speed up and now, I just speak naturally, make the pauses I want, fast up when it’s needed… Promptsmart change a chore in a fun activity.

Thanks for saving me so much time and ending up with such a better result.
Even though this product has been around for years, they STILl haven't corrected SIMPLE bugs. I thought it was just me, but I went to a video production last weekend and the videographer was using PromptSmart. He starts it up and I begin talking.... Does it track my voice? Of course not. He was visibly frustrated, saying maybe it was time to find another app, because it had started failing recently (others here say the same, that it worked fine in the beginning and then stopped voice tracking).
This week, I set it up for a project my wife is working on. Couldn't add more than 250 words (though I could via the PrompSmart website) and wouldn't sync to the script on the website.
Couldn't get the highlighter to show at the top of the window so she could use her computer's camera correctly. Had her looking halfway down the screen (though this feature did work on the iPad, but still, there were problems there, too).
Just a very frustrating, buggy experience!
Also, the UI is WAY too complicated for such a simple task. SMH
I really wanted to like this product but I spend hours trying to make it work... ofcourse I want it to work with my Iphone since that is the optimal way me to use a teleprompter. This app promised to have "AI technology" that would follow your script automatically but as soon as I started recording it would stop and ask me if I wanted to save the file. This is something that should had been addressed first thing. Also, no instructions on how to get started. Sorry, but I will refund.
App has potential, many great features. But unusable on android, there is no way to adjust text position and split screen view workaround crashes the app.
I am pretty savvy with tech and I have been doing video production for about 10 years.
I have been doing a rather large project with a client. 3 hour sessions. The voice control does not work unless you are close. It works for a few paragraphs, then doesn't. The remote is tricky to connect to the device.
The sync doesn't always work for your scripts.
Anyway, I like it but I sure hope that they fix it.
It would be better if the "remote" was a microphone for the tablet, so that it "hears" the presenter better which may make the voice control better.
It would be better if the remote had a larger area to push the button, so that it was easier to control without looking.
It would be wonderful if you wrote a script and logged into the app on the device and it just worked.
Anyway, It is a step up from my other teleprompter app but I thought that voice control would just be perfect by now or at least viable. I have 3 - three hour shoots next week and I am not sure how smooth they are going to be with this new person. She likes to talk with her hands and now that is not possible unless I use the remote myself, while operating 3 cameras.
If you bought this for reading directly from the teleprompter while close up, it will probably be decent, for professional stuff, I hope they make some fixes.
Still a lot to do UX-wise
I bought the lifetime license and what I see on my dashboard ? Pricing plans to upgrade...
Wouldn't it better to direct me to my scripts?
Talking about them, it should be as easy as logging in, and finding all you sync scripts..... I logged in on different devices with the same credential and I see different script.
Right now, it hasn't helped me at all doing videos, I have it for more than a week and still haven't understood how it works and haven't been able to really use it technical features, which I'm sure are great, but I hope they improve the customer experience
The user experience of this application is really frustrating and I don't think I've seen video tutorials worse done than the ones on their YouTube channel.
I've spent hours trying to do one thing that should have been very simple: create a script on the web, hit Play and automatically play it on my cell phone, which is the one in the mirror.
However, on the one hand they have their website, where you register. On the other hand they have a desktop app that you have to download and install and on the other hand they have UP TO 3 different apps on Google Play.
I have managed, after much effort, to create and play a script in the desktop APP and the voice recognition works fine. However, this I have not been able to duplicate on my cell phone as their app only recognizes the 2 screens on my computer and no other device.
On the other hand I have managed to get the script created in the desktop version, to appear in the mobile app, but if I play the script from there, it uses the audio from my phone, instead of the computer, and the text does not mail fluid, it jumps around, literally.
I think the app is good, but it loses all its charm with the bad user experience. I have spent several hours trying to understand how it works and in the end I have not been able to make it work.
What a pity!
