Sidekick is a productivity browser designed to help you focus on your work and get things done faster. It's built for people who spend a lot of time online and need a tool that can keep up with their workflow. With Sidekick, you can say goodbye to tab clutter and distractions. The browser streamlines your online experience by providing quick access to your favorite apps, documents, and messengers. It also includes features like tab suspension and memory optimization, which make it lightning-fast compared to other browsers. But Sidekick isn't just about speed. It's also about privacy. The browser blocks data-grabbing ads and trackers, so you can browse the web without worrying about your personal information being sold to third parties. And with its sleek, intuitive interface, Sidekick makes it easy to stay focused and productive, no matter what you're working on.
Sidekick is 3x faster than Chrome thanks to tab suspension and memory optimization.
Sidekick blocks data-grabbing ads and trackers. We never sell your data.
It provides quick access to apps, docs, messengers, and search for those who work in a browser.
Turn your favorite sites into Apps and keep them at your fingertips in the Sidebar.
Sessions help you group, save, and open tabs without the mess.
I notice that as of January 3rd 2025, anyone can start paying for the PRO subscription at $12/month, despite me having TIER 1 (and have been requested to cancel, because they were going out of business. This happened late 2024).
Can someone from Appsumo clarify what's really going on? It seems to me that there are two possibilities:
Either they really are shutting down and forgot to cancel subscriptions with Stripe (which seems unlikely), or, more likely, they acted in bad faith when they told us the business hadn’t worked out and that they would need to refund the LTDs.
If this was a strategy to force me into a monthly payment, let it be known that I will NEVER pay for this, regardless of the circumstances. Not even if they paid me to use their browser.
Please, APPSUMO STAFF, clarify!
We were told that "Sidekick Browser has made the difficult decision to sunset the tool by the end of 2024. Unfortunately, they did not see the growth they were hoping for and the product became unsustainable."
As a result I requested a refund (Tier 3) since they wouldn't be operational by the end of Q4 2024. I received my money back in Credits and forfeited my rights to my life-time Tier 3 license. To my surprise however, Sidekick browser is fully operational as of 01.01.2025 and asked me to "Subscribe and become a Pro" (monthly subscription) to enable the features I previously had access to.
Their "shutting down notice" seemed to be nothing more than a tactic to reduce the amount of Sumo Users with life-time access deals. Great strategy. F* this company.
It was a good tool, thanks forma giving us a full refund in credits
I've been using Sidekick Browser for many years, and it has significantly improved my workflow. The distraction-free interface helps me focus on what matters most, and its integration with tools like TidyCal and BreezeDoc has made managing my tasks so much easier.
I'm genuinely sad to hear that development will stop by the end of this year. Sidekick has been a reliable companion, and I will miss the unique features that set it apart from other browsers. Thank you for all the great experiences!
Sidekick was a cornerstone of my everyday workflow. I am very sad to see Sidekick browser close down. Well done team Sidekick, and good luck on future ventures.
It seems this project has been abandoned shortly after I bought it. Not a great experience!
I should have done my research... (seems like AppSumo did not and fooled us. Why did they resell this product??)
Checking Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. and their website, there are no updates on this project since July 2023. No way to contact them, and no updates.
I want a refund!!!
I read somewhere that it was compatible with Chrome extensions. But unfortunately, it is not. I have an extension I can't do without, and unfortunately, it doesn't work, and the support says the following: The browser is based on Chromium, but it doesn't mean that any extension/web tool can support it. For me, it becomes useless.
Just use native Chrome and organize your tabs.
I love Sidekick; I'd love to use it, but... they are so slow with Chromium updates that using Sidekick poses a serious threat to your security. Currently, there are a bunch of known vulnerabilities out there that were patched in any other chromium-based browser, but not in Sidekick. Can't recommend it.
I have been in touch with support multiple times on browser crashes, here's a list of things that I can guarantee will crash Sidekick on my device:
1. sharing browser tab on video calls (resorted to sharing windows or screens)
2. opening a link from 1Password extension
among other things. In addition to other crashes which I can't explain.
I'd also sometimes have sites not loading for no obvious reason.
Annoyingly, when it crashes, it also removes all my apps, so I have to add them again. It's even more challenging adding Slack, because, by default, they take over my status updates! And there is no way to configure a setting for this, I'm having to do it every time I add the app.
I was a big proponent of Sidekick and was recommending it to others, I particularly loved the sessions feature, but it's been a big downgrade to my productivity, I regret my purchase and that I stuck with them for this long hoping for things to improve.
I'd not recommend this.
I found the app itself quite interesting. But obviously there is no way to manage the profile online. It's only possible if you are logged into the Sidekick browser. The problem with that is that we have team members and they regularly felt to non-proffessional mode.
And we also couldn't find any support site/form/address. So I contacted Sidekick via LinkedIn profile. After not getting any feedback we decided to request the refund....
