I have tried to create the video today despite having bought vidboard many days ago. I was surprised with the quality. I am still trying to get my hands on as I am scanning different functions but after my perseveration, I was able to figure how to generate a good quality video. One thing I like most that voices are NOT robotic. I have one issue that there is no facility of cut , copy and paste. I had to type each and everything. Can someone from the company respond whether I can paste the content in the text box. I will go with the plan.

I create videos for several clients as part of their marketing and SEO strategy. Over the past year, I've been working with short scripts, adding background video to bring them to life. Some days, it takes me a dozen takes—and way too much time—to get it just right.

Talking head videos work well when you're building your personal brand, but doing them for multiple clients can dilute your own image. So instead, I created a few "characters" using ChatGPT and overlaid them in the foreground, with video running in the background. It was decent, but nothing groundbreaking.

To streamline the process, I turned to Grok (X's free AI) and shared my challenge and budget.

Grok recommended vidBoard, which turned out to be a perfect fit. Within an hour, I purchased the Tier 3 plan and created my first video. For years, I’ve relied on Camtasia Studio and Canva to make videos, and I still use Camtasia for things like YouTube subscribe animations and similar effects. But having a clean, AI-generated avatar deliver the script has made my workflow so much more efficient.

At the moment, you're limited to a set number of characters per slide, but that’s expected to expand. The real game-changer is how reliably the avatar delivers the script in a single take—no more retakes. Even if you download the video and enhance it later with animations or effects, having the "talking head" segment nailed from the start saves a ton of time.

Eventually, I plan to upgrade to the top tier so my VA can jump in and help create videos, too. If you're producing client videos—or building your own brand—I (and Grok) highly recommend starting with at least Tier 3 if you can swing it!

This tool looks promising. It's slightly rough on the edges but the output is good. I am planning to purchase Tier 2 once i get used to it. Created two videos and both look good. I recently purchased Vidboard on AppSumo, and I have to say... the experience has been very positive so far. The software works well and can absolutely be recommended. Sure, like any AI-based tool, it’s not without its issues, but let’s be realistic: AI technology is constantly evolving, and expecting perfection is simply not fair.

I’ve seen some very negative reviews from people who seem to expect a product that would normally cost thousands of dollars per month. That’s not a flaw in Vidboard... that’s a misunderstanding on the part of the buyer. If you're looking for Hollywood-level production tools for the price of a few coffees, maybe AppSumo isn’t the place for you.

I’ve tried many avatar and voice generation tools, including some with expensive monthly subscriptions, and honestly, Vidboard holds up surprisingly well... especially considering it’s a lifetime deal. The pace of development is steady, and the team is clearly working on improvements.

I did run into a couple of issues early on, but their customer support was quick and effective... something that can’t be said for many better-known, subscription-based platforms. In fact, some of those big names offer customer support that’s essentially just a polite way of saying, “Tough luck.”

All in all, while I’ve only been using Vidboard for a short time, my first impressions are strongly positive. Of course, there are still bugs and room for improvement — just like with any software — but it’s already a stable, well-designed tool.

If your expectations are grounded and you’re not trying to create the next blockbuster movie, Vidboard could be exactly what you’re looking for. Otherwise, you might need to look elsewhere — to other platforms, other software, and, most importantly, other budgets.

I’ll definitely be back to update this review after spending more time with the tool, but if this is the starting point, I can wholeheartedly recommend buying it without hesitation.

After having some difficulty registering, I did the unthinkable unthinkable and contacted theirr support. However, I was swiftly reprimanded for this by the agent who responded.

Didn't even bother logging in after that. I guess you must have an extremely good product if you feel you comfortable communicating with your customers in that tone and manner. At least I hope you do because I suspect the job market is going to be rough for a while.

I tried talking to customer service, which was fairly easy to figure out how to do... but the things they told me to do weren't even possible.

I wanted to navigate the voice clone, and was told its on the dashboard. It is not. The creation of a custom avatar requires you to watch several weird videos they sent me via email.

The tool might be great, but I don't know if it is because the UX is just horrible. the search bar on the dashboard isn't a real search bar, just a decoy graphic. The help button at the bottom of the dash is not a button, just a helpful looking place holder.

I can generate the voice just fine, and its decent because its 11 labs, but anything past the first slide is confusing. I wanted to love it, i really did... but even if theres a castle in the middle of this cardboard box, I would have to tear down the wall to make my own doorway to find it.

video generation is new. I get that. When investing in a software thats early adopter in its function, I have patience for the tool itself to develop further... what I dont have patience for is the UX and onboarding to be so janky.

The last straw for me was my concerns being completely dismissed and being gaslit by them in the following email:

what you cannot see? you need to log out and login again. The voice cloning feature is right there in front. UX is perfectly fine. We have not received any complaints since we launched our new UI last year. Please go through the tutorials. The information is provided.

I would like to note, I did in fact log out and log back in. It was not there. I am not a newb at software. My guess is that theres a reason all their comments are turned off in their tutorials that are on youtube. And the only way I know that was because I asked and they were sent to me via email. Because the only onboarding is the same each time, and it just says this is the templates. This is the video. This is the xyz. And doesn't tell you how to do anything specific.

Good tool to work with

The file size restrictions is unacceptable. mainly wanted it for captioning, but it says maximum file size 50 MB. Who in the world records in a filesize of less than 50 mb?
While entering characters for script, it allows only 300 characters in one go.
Too less.
It says, dont put special characters in the script, I am surprised Cant AI do this much for us?
I was just getting started and faced so many bumps on the way. I cant go any further with this app.
