So we are indirectly mapped to their FREE plan now. Only thing we have retained are the number of tasks! Rest everything is something you can get on their free plan.
- You can create max of 5 agents (free plan)
- You can create just 1 MCP server...woww!! (Free plan)
- You get just 200 AI credits per month (Free plan)
So, what are we, as the LTD users, getting out of your new 'Agents Launch'? We are completely sidelined.
I purchased this deal a long time ago, hoping the platform would grow and improve. They have definitely made significant improvements, but they are violating the original terms of the deal. It’s like buying a share for $1, the company does well, and the share is now worth $100, but then the company tells you, “Sorry, your share is now worth only £0.50, and we won’t pay you the $100.” This is very disappointing, and it’s why I’ve stopped buying on AppSumo, despite having spent thousands on their platform. Over 60% of the deals have been changed, so it’s better to buy software you truly need and give up on lifetime deals if this is the kind of experience we get. The problem is that AppSumo only guarantees refunds for a limited time, so after that, you’re on your own. There’s no real protection for the Sumolings.
Great flow builder and they just added mCP and table which means one less step to get to your database only got tier 1 but Im still Feeling pretty lucky ... Hopefully you guys come back so I can upgrade ... If not it would be great if you can add a kick on and kickoff feature where if my monthly limits is reached the unlimited subscription kicks on then kicks off for the next month unless I reach my monthly limit that way flows aren't interrupted and I only pay for the unlimited when my account needs it .. think about it thanks again for all your hard work team
active pieces
I was a big supporter of this project and really happy with how actively it was being developed. I considered this one of the best deals I ever got from AppSumo. That’s why the recent changes are so crushing.
Everyone who purchased the Activepieces "lifetime plan" with the expectation of receiving "All future Activepieces Cloud Pro Plan updates" - which were supposed to be mapped to any new plan names with all accompanying updates - now finds their plan downgraded to... slightly improved free plan with a higher number of tasks allowed. That’s it.
Browsing the platform and its settings now is a traumatic experience, as almost everything is locked and we keep seeing "upgrade now" everywhere. We can't even provide API keys for AI providers in the settings!
Meanwhile the cheapest paid plan, called "Plus," offers unlimited AI Agents, unlimited MCP Servers, unlimited Tables, and more. But we lifetime plan holders get only one AI Agent, one MCP Server, and one Table. And padlocks everywhere to "upgrade now", even for simple things like displaying an overview. It's just sad.
Still, I cannot force myself to give Activepieces less than three tacos, as objectively it's a solid tool and I feel like I can do a lot with those tasks I have.
After purchasing Tier 2 and actually trying to use it, the experience has been pretty disappointing. For the price paid, the functionality feels extremely basic. Most of the platform is locked down, I can’t create additional projects, can’t access audit logs, and anything under the “Security” section is restricted. It feels more like a demo account than a usable product.
To be fair, I should have tested it more thoroughly during the refund window, that’s on me. But I’ve also seen others who bought up to Tier 5 expressing the same frustration, which just confirms what this really was: a way to fund Activepieces’ development using lifetime deal buyers while building a feature set meant for their monthly subscription customers.
So what was the point of the AppSumo deal? It feels like they took the money and shifted focus entirely to MRR users. And judging by how community feedback and support requests are handled (or ignored), it’s hard to believe they ever intended to support lifetime users seriously.
If this deal ever comes back on AppSumo, my advice is simple: avoid it. You’re not getting a sustainable product, you’re just funding their roadmap for others and you won't get support so I would advise against it.
The product does seem good though but unfortunately due to the way the team managed to make me feel cheated, I wouldn't even pay monthly.
Unless you're tech savvy, forget about getting proper support on this app. After a month-long and numerous attempts get a simple discord bot to work, it simply doesn't not connect. I've done everything. I may be in the wrong but trying to find support is like trying to get through a maze. I sure hope improvements are on the way.
I like the idea of ActivePieces. The interface is pretty intuitive. Unfortunately the integrations, or 'pieces' as they are known, are often half-baked. For example the Xero piece has actions available - but no triggers, so you can't trigger an automation based on an invoice being paid (a pretty basic requirement). This is typical of the sort of frustrations you come up against when using this software.
Development is slow, REALLY slow. but I still retain optimism that at some point the project will gain traction and become a real alternative to Zapier and Pably. When that happens I will be happy to up the number of Tacos I'm awarding.
I really wanted to like Active Pieces. I tried to set up flows that take order details and write each line item to a row in a Google Sheet. Before purchasing, I checked that AC has line item handling – they claimed to. But it simply doesn't work. I tried every conceivable way to fetch Shopify and WooCommerce line item data – it just fails. I raised an issue – you are directed to community support. I noticed other similar complaints about line item handling and no working answers. There's no help from the AC team other than "we will fix this later". And the documentation is very poor. I've since tried to create a flow that simply uploads an email attachment to a Google Drive folder. It doesn't work – the 'parent folder' (where you start to choose the destination Google Drive folder) just has an endless spinner.
I would like my money back.
Hear me out. I know they "only" have 181 peices, but guess what? When selecting a piece to use, you can click on the AI and ask it to make one for you. Here's a tip, if it has problems making it, copy the API documentation and tell AI to use it as a reference. If you add this into your consideration, i got a steal.
Great idea, bad execution. Unfortunately we can not make it work. No templates that make sense. I mean I want to post on instagram, simple as that, give us instructions.
Boy do I wish I had tested this out more thoroughly before going all in. Based on the reviews, I thought it'd be a good investment but I didn't have time to test it out before the 60 day period. That's my fault but I regret it a lot.
I am trying to build a somewhat complex (medium level) flow and there are many issues. Primarily, there is no "save" button so if the builder bugs out, then you have to refresh and re-add all your changes.
The built in PDF parser is terrible. I don't know how that vs chatgpt is so far apart. On top of that, they don't have any other PDF parsers like pdf.co
I think there's still potential but it has a long ways to go.
If there were some promises made, I can tell you that using this service and trying to get it working is an absolute nightmare. And when you need help, you'll quickly discover that you're on your own and that there is no support for it. All they'll say is : go to the forum and get help there on your own. I posted about 3 messages on the forum asking for help, no one f** cares about you.
Not to say this product doesn't even have basic tasks such as "if a new WordPress post with category "xxx" is created > send out a campaign using tool "ABC". I mean, that's pretty much the basic thing most people want to do : automate an email campaign.
Good luck, I've just never managed using this tool.
