Have tried most of AI research tool, afforai seems to the best and precise the only downside is on iPad the text highlight do not work. No compain for the $$$ paid, wish I have gotten tier 3 instead.

I initially purchased Afforai due to its promising capabilities and even upgraded my subscription during a promotional period. However, I've encountered significant issues with the service that have impacted my ability to utilize the product effectively.
The primary concern is that my monthly credits ceased to be issued approximately one month ago, rendering the service essentially unusable. This is particularly problematic as I had intended to implement Afforai's API for automation purposes in my workflow.
My attempts to resolve this issue through their customer support channels have been unsuccessful, with no response to my inquiries. The lack of communication and resolution is concerning for a paid service.
While the product concept remains sound, these operational and support issues make it difficult for me to recommend Afforai to potential users at this time.

This tool is much more than what you see here - it has really helped me a lot in my work, in my writing, in my research, and even in my studies.

This app is an absolute disaster. It's a half-baked, overpriced piece of junk that consistently spits out inaccurate results, often missing the mark by a wide margin. The AI is sluggish and unresponsive, even when tasked with simple queries about a single document.
Customer support is a joke. They're utterly indifferent to the problems faced by both regular users and team leaders.
The pricing model is baffling. The exorbitant fees for both limited-time deals and subscriptions are completely unjustified, especially considering the poor performance and lack of real value. There are numerous cheaper and more reliable alternatives available.
I cannot stress this enough: Do not waste your money on this app. It's a complete waste of time and resources. Invest your hard-earned money in a quality product that actually delivers.

Afforai has been an invaluable tool in streamlining my research process and saving me significant time and effort. I am giving this product 1 star because simply it is useless and the support is awful.

The Concept & The Issues

This app is supposed to provide a solid support for literature and academic research. Does it do the job well? No.
I think the creators of the app should first look at the industry-leading literature-based solutions and learn from their features and experiences.

The app is as simple as just another ChatGPT clone but for “academia”.

As an analyst person who came from academia, I can say this is just a scrap.

* AI Responses are 50% wrong for any single or bulk article analysis which very sensitive for academic users.
* AI responses are very slow though the user is just using one AI model, not multiple.
* I performed the exact same papers analysis on the ChatGPT (the free version) and I got 100% fast and accurate results. Then why should someone purchase this in such a case?

Compare it with the affordable and industry-leading “Papers” app from PaperCube.
* If you are a researcher or student, you get a 40% yearly discount. 4 USD/month!
* What you get with this on the Paper App: unlimited PDF uploads, single or multiple paper chat, section-focused chat for sections such as results or conclusions.
* Very fast AI responses.

Even without being an academic person and you pay 8 USD per month, this is considered cheaper than this deal, considering the prices and the benefits.

Of course, I would be happy if I can found it a real LTD that can replace an app like “Papers”. But does this app is able to replace “Papers” or any industry-leading AI research-based tool? Definitely no. Simply use the free ChatGPT.

Support:

The support agents are two types:
* 1 or 2 people who simply respond to your issues by “we will forward this to the developer”.
* And the other is “Alec”, I guess the so-called “founder”: you can expect responses such as, “sorry, I should go and provide support to others”. He ends up the chat with you before the issue is resolved or you confirm to him all is fine. His attitude is rude and disrespectful to clients.
* Overall, the support is useless.

What alternative?

On AppSumo, the PaperGuide is really what is so-called AI LTD for academia or literature analysis. It is accurate and fast. It supports tables comparison of multiple papers, and at the top of that, a feature that all researchers or analysts need: “the data extraction”. It is just amazing and accurate and saved me lots of time.

PaperGuide LTD on AppSumo made me switch from the “Papers” app.

In conclusion:

I don’t recommend this AI clone by LTD or subscription. Around there are LTD and non-LTD options for serious academic users. The support is just awful and the LTD is very pricy for what it offers.

Afforai wants to be the best researcher's tool and it comes close, but no cigar:
- Using AI on our literature database creates a lot of added value, but rather in addition to Zotero, as it cannot replace well-supported, offline, free, open source software that we use to collaborate. There should at least be a one-way synchronization from Zotero to Afforai.
- As Afforai includes storage, using this as Zotero's WebDAV server and using the same data would be outright amazing.
- The markdown writer is nice but not replacing Scientific Workplace or other LaTeX software. Maybe it shouldn't!
- There is no way to input images, spreadsheets, or sound and video, which is also part of research (AI is doing big things for qualitative research).
- Very soon, AI will do meta-analysis: will Afforai be able to do this or will it be passed away by competitors? If it doesn't do spreadsheets, it won't be helpful for systematic research.

I'd be happy if Afforai just provided insights on my literature. I understand AI can do everything but it comes at a price and it's not possible to replace all tools at once. Yet I just can't give up Zotero and its offline backup of my archive and notes as I don't trust AppSumo products. I could upload my entire library and the app could disappear and take all my articles with it in a couple of months. That's a risk you'd never take for your job.

Now even if all of my skepticism is true, if the app exists for more than a year I'll believe it is worth the try and it's really nice that it has an API with good documentation.

I purchased Afforai and a few hours later started using it already. I just found the setting to include "Google Search" in the results and it gives me multiple sources which are similar to what I would've found if I had done the research manually. But now it only took a few seconds. This is incredible! You have solved the biggest issue with using AI for my business. I absolutely love this! 5 taco's and I'm super grateful for what you have created here. Thank you so much! The only way this could improve further, for my use case, is if the AI would use more sources. I did a search for instance and it references 7 resources, but I would prefer if it were more - since it's AI that's possible, so why not leverage it all the way to the max? :) Again, thank you so much!

I'm a content creator and I do psychology vulgarisation.
I have a lot of worksheets, pdfs and books I need to be using - A LOT.

To prepare my videos and courses, I need to be able to explore this material FAST.
The problem: AFFORAI, even with the most advanced models, is entirely hallucinating.

For example, I ask "what are the protocols for procrastination given in the PDF" - I take the PDF, and the answer given by the AI is just NOT from the source, even when I ask specifically to take only in the book or when I try to craft a complete and specific prompt.

Maybe I'm just not the right target for this, and it's really just for researchers and paper-finding/sorting 🤷🏻‍♂️

I recently went on a business trip to Indonesia to conduct factory research. I used Afforai for everything from my travel schedule to contacting the factories I planned to visit. Since I don't speak Indonesian or English, I uploaded all the relevant information to Afforai, such as high-speed rail timetables, booked air tickets, the main purpose of the trip, and the kind of cooperation I was hoping to establish with the factories.

After returning from the trip, my manager reviewed the emails I had sent to the factories and asked if I had used AI to write them. He then instructed me to send the next email in English, even though he knows I don't speak the language. T
he content of the email I had sent was well-aligned with the intentions of both the factories and our company.

The next day, my manager messaged me on social media asking for the name of the app I had used. I explained Afforai to him and recommended that he purchase the Tier 2 plan. At first, he seemed a bit hesitant about the price, but I told him that the app had saved me a lot of time. A little while later, one of my other managers let me know that they had bought Afforai, and soon after, another colleague also purchased it and asked me to teach them how to use it.
