Email marketing software for email marketers
Despite being a startup, the team behind Blastable has gone above and beyond to provide exceptional support. Their commitment to helping users succeed is truly impressive.
I’m surprised by some of the low-star reviews mentioning its lack of cold email features—it’s clear that Blastable is designed to focus on high deliverability, and it excels at that. If you’re looking for a tool that ensures your emails reach the inbox, this is the one.
The value for money is outstanding—big bang for the buck! I haven’t even scratched the surface of all the features they offer, but I’m excited to explore further. Blastable is already proving to be a solid investment.
Highly recommend for anyone serious about deliverability and email campaigns!
I refunded it because the scrutiny of email filtering is extremely high, and limits your emailing to verified contact that (supposedly) signed-up to your newsletter.
It means that it will refuse to work with any email scrapper, or B2B lists, which was not suitable for my cold email campaign. I am selling product that has a low returning customer rate.
Otherwise, it seemed like a very nice tool. Just can't send emails with it.
No, I am not an employee nor was I paid for this review.
Ironically, it comes from someone who purchased the product and loved its ease of use, value, and power and because we are sending out refresh and colder campaigns, we are not the ideal fit for a reputable platform like Blastable as 10% open rates will not cut it.
This product is ideal for any business that needs to communicate efficiently and quickly with established customers and typically gets open rates of 25 to 50% neighborhood.
As we all know, the most important component of email marketing is getting your message to the inbox, and Blastable gets that done extremely well. They are very protective of their IPs reputation and ensure that only messages that adhere to best practices are allowed on their platform.
So, if you are a high-volume spammer, this is not the platform for you.
However, if you are a legitimate business that needs to communicate with your customers and get inboxed, then search no further because, for the price and what they provide, Blastable is the way to go!
______
TL;DR -
Large agencies may want to look elsewhere
Everyone else should seriously consider Tier 3 and above.
I use SendFox (ESP), Convertbox (landing page), and Book Like a Boss ("ThankYou" page)
along with some duct tape - this ad hoc stack has served me well for several years now.
Along the way, I have also invested in Encharge and Zagomail ESPs, but actually used SendFox.
Blastable caught my eye recently (with their bold, Miami Vice/Miami Subs color scheme.)
After watching Dave Swift's Blastable review on YT, I purchased Tier 4 (Tier 3 and above allow
up to 5 "sender profiles," so you could potentially send from up to 5 different domains, if needed.)
While cold emailing is NOT allowed, transactional emails and affiliate marketing / promotion
ARE ALLOWED (contact support for best practices.)
Most ESPs charge by the total number of contacts you have (like Blastable's plans on their website.) However, for AppSumo, the Blastable LTD Tiers are based on monthly sending credits.
For example, if you purchase Tier 1 (20k sends), you can have up to 20k contacts.
If you purchase Tier 3 (100k sends), you can have up to 100k contacts. Send limits reset monthly; contact limit is capped by Tier. Deleting contacts will make room for new ones.
Unsubscribes, do not contacts, and bounces DO NOT count towards your contact limit.
After the AppSumo LTD ends, If you need additional sending credits (i.e. a special sale event),
Blastable has temporary options available. Justin has stated - "you’ll be able to purchase
pay-per-send options to send more emails on a pay-per-use basis. We don’t have pricing
for this yet (though it will be heavily discounted compared to our normal pricing)
as we are in the process of building it out."
The onboarding process couldn't be simpler.
It's important to note, that when you upload your list,
Blastable uses their own internal email verification system,
so there is a some delay during this list import verification process.
They recommend importing 1000 contacts at a time to warm them up to Blastable.
Blastable also has plans to offer email verification embedded within opt-in forms.
Custom fields can be added into a URL (i.e. first name, email, address, etc.)
using the tokens provided or any custom tokens you want to add yourself.
Blastable has an AI feature called "perfect timing" where an email can be
delivered when the subscriber is most likely to open it based on their behavior.
Alternatively, you can also send email to contacts at a certain time in their
time zone across the board (i.e. 8:30 am = 8:30am in THEIR time zone.)
Blastable claims deliverability is "over 99% as far as emails being delivered...
average open rates are between 32-33% across all emails sent on our platform."
"Advanced Segment Creation" is included with Tier 3 and above,
but "Super Customized Segmentation" is planned for Q1 2025.
Yes, there's a 'Powered by Blastable' logo at the bottom of every email,
but soon this will contain your affiliate link (if you join their partner program.)
Several points of concern (that were pointed-out in Dave Swift's Blastable review on YT)
were fixed very quickly (be sure to read comments below the YT video.)
The team at Blastable have been very responsive on AppSumo, YT, and via
their internal support messaging system within my Blastable Dashboard as well.
If you think you have outgrown SendFox, you should seriously consider Blastable.
Would I like the option to remove the logo? Sure, but even SendFox charges you more
(per month, as I recall) if you want less branding, custom HTML, etc.
I give Blastable 5 Tacos because it meets my current needs
and feel that Tiers 3 (and above) offer excellent bang-for-your-buck.

[11/19/24 Update - Worked out Support Issue - we were using different email addresses. Katie has been great. Still haven't fully used/tested the platform - that's what we're doing now. Will update Overall Rating once we've put it through it's paces.]
I've messaged them when their little Chat Widget says "Hey We're Available" and I've messaged when it doesn't say that. I've used a lot of platforms like this over the years and I'm looking for answers to some basic stuff but haven't heard back. Hopeful that this will catch someone's attention and get a looksee.
I will say that the ELECTRIC BLUE BUBBLES with WHITE TEXT make it nearly impossible to read what things are - especially inside the Automation Creator as you can see here https://share.zight.com/nOu20Ozr
Still hoping this thing will work - haven't even had a chance to send any automation campaigns yet to see if it hits Inbox or not. Will happily change the rating if it turns out otherwise.
Sadly, I am returning this tool. There is no way to remove the branding, even when buying 3 or more codes. It is a no-go for me.
I briefly tested, emails didn't arrive to my gmail, but that could be something I missed or that it took longer. I did not test extensively to see why.
The tool looks amazing if you are ok with their branding.
I tested plain emails, those don't seem to have the branding, but unfortunately, there are no line breaks either.
I tried to import several thousand emails and failed. It "suggests" that I only send 1000 addresses to begin with. So I uploaded 1000 addresses. I found splitting the list for import to be unreasonable. When I tried to upload more emails, I found out that only 1000 emails can be imported per day.
If the quality of the list is a problem, the bumps and fails might better be identified when the first thousand emails are sent and then stopped if necessary.
But limiting the import is the worst way of ensuring quality.
This hindrance makes it hard to continue trying out this tool.
I have asked support for help and am now waiting to see if there is an improvement. If that happens, I will report here and re-evaluate if necessary.
Appsumo is filtering low reviews. I left a rather lengthy 1 star review stating real and honest feedback and they (appsumo) have pulled it.
I cannot over state how bad this tool and this experience really is.
This is the worst experience I've ever had with any tool I've ever purchased on appsumo.
FACT: Their emails (from them) go into Gmail spam.
Let's be honest most people will compare SME EDM platforms to Mailchimp still. I was an early adopter of that platform and it is interesting to see how it has developed. With Blastable I get the impression they are a top competitor of Mailchimp and other more mature platforms straight out of the gate. This thing delivers and I am looking forward to seeing where it will still go. I purchased Tier 3 and although that meets my immediate and near future needs I'm considering upgrading a further tier or two.
1) Be Aware: "Multiple Sender Profiles" = 5 sender profiles. Just tell me it's 5.
I feel mislead and deceived. Now I'm on alert wondering what else has been set up to be intentionally misleading/deceptive since obvious thought went into this misdirection. They also do not display any limits of sender profiles in your account profile yet they have the subscriber limit posted.
A Perfect Example of Misleading Marketing Tactics At Its Best Right Here!
2) My welcome "You're IN" email from your platform went directly to spam. This email is from you and your automation with your content in it. Not at all like the explanation offered on another low review as to why your emails went to spam.
3) This is not a good "warm fuzzy feeling" about buying this tool.
I'm tempted to stop here and just refund.
I’ve always been a bit wary of email marketing tools because they tend to overpromise and underdeliver. But Blastable just delivers as it promises. At first, I was hooked by all the cool features that seemed just right for my growing business. What really sealed the deal, though, is how rock-solid it is. I’ve run several campaigns without any hiccups, no downtime or glitches. There was this one time I needed to send out a campaign over a holiday weekend, and I was super worried about getting help in time. But the support team came through fast, and everything went off quickly. If you’re fed up with unreliable services, Blastable might just be the reliable partner you need.
Finding the right email marketing tool felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. After trying several options that didn’t meet my needs, I stumbled upon Blastable in AppSumo. What really impressed me was how intuitive the platform is. I’m not the most tech-savvy person, but I found it easy to navigate and set up my campaigns without any hassle. This is also the real game-changer for me that it's a system that is easy to use for a non-tech guy.
