Had a first crack at it with a couple of long form videos.
The transcript is good, but could be better. Still the option to edit it and correct specific names or jargon works fine.
The creation of different style posts based upon this transcript and the option to create from several standard prompts is an interesting one and works well. Also creating your own custom prompts works well. This would be the reason for me to keep going.
Because what they call the Studio is not good at all for the moment. I understand they're working on improvements. That's good, because it needs a lot of them.
For me, at this moment in time, it's unusable though. When switching sizes from the original 9:16 to any of the other options slices up the video in a strange way and there is no way to just have the video fit within or choose yourself what part of the video you would like to cut or show. Captions can not be moved to a better spot and you have limited options in styling them. Rendering takes forever and I have had several examples where rendering just halted and nothing was produced at all.
Tried support once and they were very responsive and trying to do their best but when they could not tell me what was going wrong themselves and had to refer to their developpers I 'm still waiting for that follow up.
All in all I had higher hopes from the reviews and comments I read before jumping on. I started out with tier 2 and thought if all went well to upgrade quickly. Guess for now I will keep it, crossing fingers they improve, but have not been convinced to upgrade so far...

I can't speak highly enough for the customer service Castmagic offers. They're quick to respond and genuinely want to help find answers to your questions. I don't think I've ever worked with a team as helpful as this in any of the online programs I've ever used.

I really like this app and I'm happy with the purchase so far. I'm giving four stars because I feel like the studio is primitive. When it comes to audiograms, captions, and images, there is so much more potential. This app needs the ability to upload photos and logos, change fonts, change colors, and change backgrounds for the content we are creating. HUGE potential but the studio needs polish. The AI is amazing, and the content it produces and suggests is beautiful, but I want an app that's going to put out images, videos, and graphics that look amazing. This is a shortfall right now for an app that's this mature. Please roadmap a Studio Overhaul ASAP. Thank you.

the main ability around YOUR uploads and running AI content prompting against YOUR uploads works great! the outputs are good for your blog, posts, and so on.

what doesnt work is the youtube link trying to fetch other people's content. i tried multiple youtube videos. it bombs out on a 15 minute youtube link and then takes your minutes away after erroring out with RED indicator (or no output at all without an error indicator). I've had two different experiences with the youtube links.

thats a bit disappointing to see it still doesnt work since the Sumo campaign. however, i dont think i will be using it for tha . i have another app for fetching and summarizing and prompting other content out there.

i am mainly going to use the core of CastMagic with uploading my own content rather than fetching content which is where CastMagic seems to shine. including the iphone app in beta that I just tried. it uploads fine, then i can generate content off it which is amazing!

It took me a while to start using it, hence the late review, but this tool is amazing! What a time saver. It's like having a team of VAs.
Getting a transcript of recordings is already great. But the click of a button AI content is tremendous. The quality of the AI content responses is excellent. The magic chat content seems more prone to typical ChatGPT fails, but it's still a great option to have. I also *really* appreciate that there is a slack community for support. I may not use it much yet, but I will be soon and love the fact that I have access to it when I do.
I hope this deal comes back for the sake of my friends who didn't get it and now regret it.

As a podcaster for 8 years, Castmagic has become INVALUABLE at helping me transcribe my back catalog. It's worked even better than Descript at identifying multiple speakers AND breaking them at the right time (Descript has a habit of assigning the last couple of words from one speaker to the next speaker). The interface has improved a lot, and I have barely even TOUCHED the Studio feature, but I 100% plan to in a couple months, when I'm going to need short clips and other things.

The AI content section has some terrific default options, with Clip Finder, a Chapter generator, and the social media bits (the Tweet threads are great) my favorite.

Honestly, I'm wishing I had gotten the highest tier when it was available. But so glad I got in on it when I did! Can't recommend it enough

CastMagic is one of those gems. I use it weekly to generate key topics and summaries from business meetings. Features like custom prompts also make it fun. Sharing information/details from presentations, briefings, etc., with partners has become so much easier.

Overall I love the speed of transcription. Not too thrilled with the titles and AI content so I mostly use the fast transcript and paste that into chapter for all my other needs. Still a great value though!
