Create, send and track your email marketing campaigns with ease
Bought their AppSumo deal and instead of simply upgrading my trial account, they forced me to create a new one and start from scratch. Said they would "help migrate the domain from the old account to new." But deleted it instead, forcing me and my team to reconfigure everything. Lost all our templates and configurations. Basic account migration seems too complicated for them. Will update my review if things change, but for now can only recommend you save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. Bad support!
Update: Actually, I started my free trial AFTER seeing the AppSumo deal, specifically to test before buying. Your support team assured me domain migration would be smooth. Never mentioned it was "new customers only" during our conversations, to the contrary. Now you're claiming it was "clearly stated" but your own support team gave different information. Lost all our work because of your misleading team! If that's the kind of support you give on day 1 to new customers, what can we expect later? I'm getting a refund.
Many basic things are not exists in Mailercloud such as double opt-on, inderpendent lists, transactional emails.
You can't add one email to several lists, if you run different business that means that you can't have same buyer in both lists, they said to use tags, but this not usable. Also it means that if customer unsubscribes from one brand, you can't contact with him from another.
The templates are limited, reports poor.
All this features are in road list for more then a year. The product not changed, no any progress I can see.
I bought another system and I like it much more
Mailercloud is an interesting product, it offers a high degree of personalization and nice form builders. They currently offer the marketing platform and transactional mails are not included. I can live with that, but the fact that you still don't offer a double opt-in is a clear no-go for me and that makes me think of you as a European company. It was wished more than a year ago as mandatory and such a feature has to be offered today. Unfortunately I saw this too late, GDPR without double opt-in is a no go.
It is unusable in the EU because it doesnt habe double optin. They have it on the roadmap for now thwo years and told me that it will be there in a few months and i am waiting now for 5 months for it.
Also the integration with make.com is not good at all. Even after having a live-call with ths support we were not able to make an automation that just assigns a tag to a contact. Only problems.....
And for 5 months now - that is since the appsumo deal finished - there is no visible development more - The last update on the roadmap is 4 months old - it is since they stopped working on it after the deal finished.
Now switched to sendfox
At first, this was a new hope, a much better tool than, e.g. mailerlite. But then, suddenly, and I don't know for how long, it stopped working. Some emails got collected but mostly not. I tried it several afternoons to get it running again. The support doesn't react, the bot is worthless, documentation explains basics (that's necessary, of course) but nothing more.
The systems seems quite buggy. I get emails that tell me that mailercloud has received a submission, but the lists stay empty. Reloads doesn’t matter, waiting some days that the system can catch up, nothing better.
Unfortunately the time to give back is gone.
Maybe I write to Appsumo, I’ll buy no more deals, most of the tools just cost time because the software is not working as expected and the support is awkward.
I am sorry to make the general statement, but I am done.
Maybe the change my mind with a sensational reaction, but I am not expecting this.
Bye,
Rudolf
There's a lot to like about MailerCloud - mainly the cost compared to most other ESPs.
However, that price comes at a cost. There are many annoyances in MailerCloud:
- The UI took a while to understand - especially after using other services (e.g. What's an automation vs. a campaign?)
- The reporting is also lacking (how did that newsletter do? I'm not necessarily interested in all of the emails I sent during a period.)
- the documentation is lacking [even explaining the campaign vs. automation thing, as well as reporting]
- customer service can be slow (especially with the time difference between the Western the US and Europe)
With that, I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it or return it - even though I've spent a decent amount of time learning it.
We enjoy using Mailercloud because of its clean UI, great-looking templates, good deliverability, good sending IP, and easy set-up including the custom sending domains.
I have yet to try AMP but it's a nice feature to have that others don't offer yet.
With unlimited emails and unlimited users, this is a no-brainer LTD!
I really wanted to make this work. I researched in the past and had read good things about mailercloud so I was happy to see them back on appsumo. But after way too many hours of frustration trying to figure out how to set up what should be simple things, I give up.
They do have support but they only answer in the middle of the night for me so every question takes 24 hours to get an answer and then they don’t answer all of your questions.
In the end it seems that basic features like merging your list, resending to unopens, having zapier add contacts as they come in to tags, having duplicate contacts even if on different lists and other basic features are impossible with mailercloud.
Images uploaded to mailercloud to include in an email wouldn’t show so I had to upload to my website to use external link.
Zapier wouldn’t transfer all details either so I have been updating contacts one by one manually as they came in.
I’m switching back to mailerlite where I should have just stayed.
I've got some pros and cons with Mailercloud:
PROS
- Great price
- Decent UI
- Capabilities as advertised
- Can connect other apps via API
CONS
- Connecting with Google Domains is clunky (but still possible)
- Email builder tool is unnecessarily difficult to use. Wish it was more like Klaviyo's builder.
- Support staff hasn't been available during US business hours
- Their support chat bot answers literally 0 questions. It's useless.
I think this is still worth the purchase. Most of the drawbacks are related to customer support and customer education. So if you're willing to do it without much hand-holding, then you'll love the robust functionality and the price.
I've tried a lot of software on Appsumo and MailerCloud is one of those that are a find. I had my eye on it for a little bit and finally purchased today. Within an hour or so I had my account setup, my lists uploaded, my domain verified, and my first campaign on it's way. I was really happy that things just worked and were intuitive. The builder was really easy too and had features that my past software did not have. Thanks for making a great piece of software.
My encounter with Mailercloud left much to be desired. Despite their promises of unlimited email sending capability, the reality was far from it. Upon logging in, I was surprised to find out that I was restricted to sending only 5000 emails per day. This stark contrast between their marketing claims and actual service felt like a betrayal of trust.
Adding to the frustration, Mailercloud mentions a temporary daily limit on emails to prevent spam activity, but conveniently fails to disclose that this limit is capped at 5000 emails. For users with larger subscriber lists, such as myself, this limitation felt like a slap in the face and raised serious doubts about the integrity of their business practices.
My attempts to seek assistance from Mailercloud's customer support proved equally disappointing. Instead of receiving personalized assistance, I was met with generic, automated responses that did little to address my concerns. It was evident that genuine customer care was sorely lacking.
What was most concerning, however, was Mailercloud's apparent lack of commitment to resolving issues. Rather than engaging in meaningful dialogue to rectify the situation, they seemed more inclined to offer a quick refund as a means of brushing aside the problem.
In light of these experiences, it begs the question: how can users trust Mailercloud with the vital task of delivering their emails when their business practices appear deceptive and their customer support lacks sincerity? For those seeking a reliable email marketing solution, Mailercloud falls short of expectations and leaves much to be desired.
Too bad I can't give 0 stars.
Mailercloud was easy to set up and get going. The instructions are clear, and my emails are answered within a day (different timezones). The drag and drop features are easy to use. I would love more interactive features like polls and the ability to ask a question and track the answer in a report. The other thing I think is missing is a more robust unsubscribe page so I can attempt to retain my subscribers by giving them other options to stay in touch. Outside of those, I'm happy with the service.
