It might suit you but was disappointing for me

I really wanted this App to work for me, lots of promising signs and ambition but ultimately currently it's not something that I can use
1) I was hoping that this product could be a internal communication platform for a business with a head office and five branch sites. I needed it be able to replace email and for user management to enable me to limit contact so that head office staff could contact anyone ( or any group or team) but branch staff can only see or contact staff in their own branch, or head office, but I could not find a way to do that. I think for my purpose it needed more powerful user management and configuration options.

2) In addition I could not use it to replace internal email because the text communication is in the form of a single long chat ( like text or Whatsapp messaging) instead of individual messages and subjects/threads that I can file or tag to keep organised as you would with email, I think communication would get into an unholy mess and lead to inefficiency without better features for text messaging . In that respect it doesn't appear to be the right tool for my need, at least it's not currently, but perhaps this is something they may enhance later? (I havent marked Mode down for this since it states "Chat" or Messaging" but for my purpose I need Messaging that's much much closer to email than a Whatsapp chat.

3) I tested the Video conferencing but couldn't get it working properly, we both had audio which worked fine, but no video at all (despite having granted access to both cameras).

4)Screen sharing was pretty useless, during testing with two callers our video cameras didn't work, but screen sharing did, BUT the size of the screen share was so small it was not usable (it shared the screen with Icons representing the two participants in the video conference), so to my mind its not ready for use although I presume they can and will fix the VC issues in time,

I don't have the time to put into testing this any further, especially as the messaging is so far from meeting my use case now.
Its a shame, I think if the issues I found were fixed it could be a good tool, the objectives seem to be desirable but it simply did not deliver for me.
I feel it's too early stage and risky right now IMHO, too many things are unclear, not working properly or not there at the moment,.
Finally I worry about if it will survive since I asked about MRR and got no response on that matter.
I wish the vendors well and hope they may come back once things have progressed further, if they do I would be willing to take another look.

A Must-Have App for Privacy and Secure Communication

Having experimented with this app for two weeks, I would like to offer my insights.

This app offers robust encryption, with the encryption key stored solely on your local device, ensuring that no middleman can access your information without the key.

You can chat securely without needing a VPN, which is particularly useful in regions where VPN usage is restricted. Even if you do use a VPN, the communication delay is practically unnoticeable.

I absolutely love this app. And I hope we can stack more than four codes. For me, this app is definitely a keeper.

It works!

GOOD:
It will take 1h to really configure it, but after that the policy is set for all clients.
IOS, desktop works well, video is clear, sound is clear. Tested, works.
Nice UI, functional, have all the credentials to not go bust.

TO UPDATE:
Requires typing the password for each app open
Forces you to use software 2FA
We need a good roadmap like frill.co (come back to AppSumo) to add our recommendations

You have only 2 other alternatives:
Off the shelf chat app (self-host) like Matrix-Element / Custom-built chat app (self-host)
You have to update, maintain, custom code each, be responsible for failures... Security vs Privacy debate.
Why not have both? A matrix self-hosted for friends and Mode for work.
High reliability if you have both.

If you buy the deal, we'll have people invested and interested to make it better.
Only 1 question left. What's the team's response rate, willingness and technical capability to innovate on time?
Till now, customer service is on point, but we'll need the mentioned updates done.

If you want a working chat app with security this is it.

Very Promising start

We have signed up to Mode to communicate within our small team.
We are an ISO 27001 certified company and take security seriously.
We have been testing the Mode platform and all users are impressed so far.
We have raised some questions with support and the response was lightning fast.
The team prefer this to Slack and we have some plans to extend out to our wider network.
A very good start and I wish the Mode team well with this product.
