Picmaker is suitable for those aged 45 and older who prefer manual and gradual image adjustments over AI. The platform is also pretty slow to load, so you better not be in a hurry.
It is a simplified alternative to CANVA, obviously, but without as many tools or integrations.
Similarly to its competitor, however, it's a pain to bulk-create brand-inspired content.
Picmaker's UI design is pretty outdated and needs a more modern approach. I wished they would follow the same path as Marky, where the UI is lean and smooth, with a focus on AI. Sometimes UI is confusing (why do I have to double-click to access a folder?), and I struggle to find my way in the menu.
They have, however, one of the best social media post-posting tools, with custom settings per platform. It's a hidden gem. However, it struggles with its overall user interface.
Animated pictures, video effects, etc would be welcome.
Lastly, Picmaker is a tool with low communication and interaction with developers, no hype around a roadmap, no active community, and few updates, which is something I am personally looking for on AppSumo.
I didn't request a refund because I think it can be improved if they invest in a 2.0 vision. Plus, it still saves me $100+ a year on Canva, which I don’t use much.
Picmaker is a powerful yet accessible tool for anyone looking to create eye-catching designs without the steep learning curve of traditional design software.
Its user-friendly interface, extensive template library, robust customization options, and collaboration features make it a top choice for individuals and teams alike.
I was looking for an app that allows me to visualize posts as I'm creating them, while also scheduling them for publishing, and tracking insights. I looked at dozens of apps, and Picmaker handled all this the best. It creates beautiful posts and has a pleasant, easy-to-use interface. When I briefly experienced a technical issue, support was quick and very responsive. I've been very pleased. If Picmaker includes integration with Bluesky in the future, I'll be even happier. Thanks very much, Picmaker team!
Picmaker is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to create professional, eye-catching designs quickly and easily. One of its standout features is its user-friendly interface. Even if you're a beginner, you’ll find it intuitive and simple to navigate. The platform also offers great flexibility, allowing you to adapt your designs seamlessly by changing formats, colours, and fonts. This makes it ideal for creating content tailored to various social media platforms. And when you’re done, the ability to post directly to your accounts saves valuable time.
That said, there are a few areas where Picmaker could improve. For example, while it boasts connections to platforms like YouTube and TikTok, the functionality is limited to posting videos only. It would be helpful if the platform clarified how this feature can be maximized for other types of content.
Another exciting prospect is the promise of PowerPoint export, which is listed as an upcoming feature on the website. This could be a game-changer for content creators who want to repurpose their designs for presentations. However, more transparency about when this feature will roll out and which subscription tiers will have access to it would be greatly appreciated.
Overall, Picmaker is a solid tool with immense potential. While its current functionality is excellent for social media creatives, addressing these gaps could take it from great to unbeatable.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
I really disliked the speed of the tool. Also when I refunded I got an email from the founder with the plea to tell why I refunded. I mean it is a gesture with nice intention, but if you take GDPR sincerely my data and mailadress should be deleted, hence the email never should have happened.
I wanted to LOVE this but there are key features that are missing that make this NOT a replacement for Canva.
1. No videos
2. No video editing (so connected to #1)
3. There should be more AI integration for the creation. The Mad button is okay - but the colors that it changes too are not impressive. It is just a wacky way to re-color things. It would be more impressive if there was an option to randomly choose a nice color pallet with a fun name vs the weird colors selected.
4. There is no bulk create feature that I could find
5. There are some nice templates, and many different types of templates
6. Everything is customizable
7. There are no app integrations beyond social media. On Canva - there are many apps and integrations.
If you don't do video - this is a cool tool. But I use Canva - Daily - with well over 3000 projects. I wanted this to be able to replace Canva, but it won't. If you don't have a tool like Canva - then this is a good one as it does have the option to post online to your socials which is a nice feature. Just the background remover alone is a great tool if you don't have access to one.
I am not sure if I will be refunding, or if I will wait to see if they add some more new features that will make this tool more robust. But overall - if you don't want to spend the money for a paid Canva account - this is a good alternative.
Alright, so I've actually purchased this deal a few months ago already and have tested it multiple times, now I'm basically using it as a Canva replacement and it's doing the job perfectly, after my purchase, they've added some cool features which I also got access to, like the inbox messages, social media accounts connection and more.
Can't wait to see what the future lies with this app. Its pretty good. Im hoping soon it will be amazing. I have had it for about 1 week, and all I can say is its very useful and a decent alternative to the higher priced competitors. Glad I purchased.
This is a really great product and I don't even make use of all the features. The poster, ad, and picture designing is great. A variety of fonts to use. AI background remover is quite good. I originally bought this mainly for creating video thumbnails and posters. For those purposes this was a great deal.
I haven't dipped into social media posting yet and several of the other features.
My complaint is I don't love interfacing with the Picmaker program. I find it's a little clunky and disorganized. Once you use it for a while it's better and of course it could be be fixed over time.
