I bought Tier 3 and tested with a standard "proof of life" prompt I use: "What is the weather today in [my city] today?" Triplo kept avoiding my questions, either guiding me on how to find the information myself or stating it couldn't access the latest data. Even worse, some of the models took a very long time to respond, or did not respond at all, and even stole credits (DeepSeek).

Merlin provided near-instant updates on the current weather conditions, regardless of the model selected, as long as the "Web" search feature was activated. I also found out that Merlin DOES indeed have a YouTube summarizer built in (which is one of the main reasons I bought Triplo for). Unfortunately, the link to it is broken on the website. But, it works great from the iOS app and syncs the results across all the devices you log in from.

I looked in several areas to see if I could tggle real-time web search on or off in Triplo, but couldn't find anything. Even if Triplo has real-time web search, I prefer Merlin's implementation of this feature better because it clearly allows you to turn it on or off. Plus, Merlin provides a clickable "source" icons so that you can verify the accuracy of the AI's response.

Triplo AI has more AI models than Merlin (even though most will really only use one or two day-to-day) and triplo has a great interface for copy and paste functionality. However the lack of REAL real-time search is a drawback....I may have to dial back my Tier level on this.

I do appreciate the founder for responding to me so quickly. However, I feel misled, thinking Triplo had real-time web search abilities. Its only clear from the response below that real-time search is limited to the Perplexity AI model. If I had known that previously, I would have stuck to the free Perplexity web searches I was already doing.

I have been using Merlin AI (a former AppSumo product that is still available to see in the search bar above) for the last 8 months. Greater than 80% of my use of Merlin is for research-based queries about current topics. It works great for that purpose and I mostly use it with 4o, DeepSeek V3 (US-hosted), and Claude 3.5 Sonnet. With the web search switch enabled, I can use it with other popular LLMs like O3 Mini High, Gemini 2.0 Pro, Llama 3.1 405B, DeepSeek R1, and O1. This extends far beyond scraping a singular URL or accessing real-time data via one AI model. I hope that Triplo will update its features to change this stance soon...Otherwise, I may have to back down to Tier 1 or refund completely.
