Widgets/Shortcuts:
There are both widgets and Siri shortcuts available. If you have an iPhone, you can really easily link the shortcut to your action button and have on-demand voice note transcription. If you're on Android, you can set up a big button on your home screen to press. It's super convenient.
Licenses and Devices:
I contacted Letterly support on this one because I was a bit confused. You DO need 1 license for every device you want to use Letterly on. However, you can re-assign those licenses to new devices whenever you want. Also you can use the web app as 1 of your licenses, but you can access it from any desktop browser with internet. This multiplies the use of that 1 license.
Letterly VS Apple Voice Memos:
Letterly works better and is much faster than using the iPhone's native Voice Memo app, then transcribing, and then asking AI to reformat. A lot of steps are eliminated.
Letterly's transcriptions are also much more useful: 5 styles + specific use cases for email, social media, and scripts + slight and heavy rewrites.
This same comparison applies to other note-taking tools that offer voice transcription as a feature (like Evernote). If voice transcription is not the app's primary purpose, it will do a worse job than Letterly in 19/20 cases.
Letterly VS Otter AI
This is an Apples to Oranges comparison. Letterly is better for personal voice notes, content creators, solopreneurs, and self-proclaimed philosophers. Otter is better suited to businesses, meeting transcriptions, and small to large teams.
Otter integrates with Zoom/Meet/Teams, offers up to 4-hour long recording transcriptions, and has other team-oriented features. But that's not what Letterly is trying to be. It's your thoughts captured and quickly reformatted into useful formats. With the LTD, Letterly costs a great deal less than Otter.
Development and Support:
The one time I reached out to support, they responded very swiftly—within a day or two.
New features are consistently added every few weeks or so. What I appreciate most is that the new features don't hinder the user experience or performance of the app.
Bravo Letterly team!
