This application experiences significant lag!
I frequently have to refresh my browser to get it to work properly.
Additionally, it often provides inaccurate content.
For instance, as a primary English output, I sometimes receive responses in Spanish.
I've reported these issues multiple times, yet there have been no improvements. I'm extremely disappointed!
The software is quite satisfactory. I would give it 5 tacos for correcting English, but when used for other languages, it’s quite disappointing. Most of the mistakes are not corrected. However, I am very satisfied with its use in English, especially considering the product’s price (Lifetime) is very affordable (compared to Grammarly’s monthly fee), so I can accept that its quality is not better than Grammarly’s (I intended to use Linguix as a substitute for Grammarly). I hope that in the future, the accuracy of other languages can be optimized, and I also hope for the launch of a Plagiarism Checker. Then, this product would truly be one I would strongly recommend.
Pros:
- Price (LTD)
- AI features
- Templates/Shortcuts functionality
- Ability to add a custom Style Guide
- Ability to adjust/acknowledge "intentional" misspellings
- Team features
- Continuous updates (-> See: https://instructio.app/o/qWYz10FJRvS2IGzkRzHqCA/)
Cons:
- Poor quality for languages other than English
- Lists (/Bullet points) are often incorrectly judged as misspellings
I’m glad I got the Lifetime Deal while it was still available. If Linguix has the chance to be relisted on Appsumo in the future, I would suggest you buy it if you are still considering it. :)
Very grateful and happy with my purchase, enjoying the opportunity to buy when you came here for a while I saw the promotion and so good, especially using the Android keyword
I was formerly a Grammarly user. Switched to this. It's ok. Misses on a lot of marks. Hits on a lot of others. But for the price, you can't go wrong.
I replaced the free Grammarly Plugin with that. The inclusion of tools like shorten and simplify enhances the standard functions, and they are equally effective in both German and English for me, but it tends to a kind of marketing speech which has to be sorted out then.
Some fields on websites are not being recognized.
I would like to have an integration for Thunderbird/Postbox or a general Windows integration of course.
For this price it is a no-brainer which has already improved my writing.
I've tried many writing checkers, and Linguix is up there in terms of features. However, there are a few things that need improvement.
Many of the corrections it makes are to simplify sentences. When using AI replacements such as simplify, it removes the spacing and connects it to the previous sentence, which is annoying. There needs to be an option to disable these recommendations and only highlight grammar. When trying to edit a word over a highlighted area, it will open the AI box, which makes it annoyingly difficult to edit sentences.
The document dashboard does not seem to save or sync correctly at times, and I have had to remember what I wrote and rewrite it. Speaking of the dashboard, it should be set to default to "Documents" not "My team".
It also lacks these features seen in other programs:
The ability to set a tone.
Dark mode
I love Linguix especially because it's a lifetime deal. I would recommend as it really helps me write simpler and more concise sentences. But it today!
I love Grammarly, I was hoping that Linguix could be a suitable replacement. For some instances it is, and I will keep it as it's an LTD; however there are far too many instances where it just doesn't work. I often use rich text editors in my online courses or on websites that use iframes. If linguix could find a way to work everywhere I would be happier with it. I also own Prowriting Aid and still feel like Grammarly is still king in the space, unfortunately. It does work OK as a quillbot alternative almost but also not as good as quillbot.
Several issues,
AI replies instead of rewrite content
Plugins especially in office are non usable.
If you only need the webinterface its a good deal, otherwise there is room for improvement.
I've been using correcting tools for some years and used a really good one, that allows me to correct text in different languages. I wasn't looking to change but saw
Linguix and decided to give it a try, as it is a lifetime and just for correction with would be great. But it's so much more!
Linguix texts suggestions are really good and it's so practical. I've been using it for less than one week, and it already did so much for me in terms concerning work.
I think Linguix is a tool with potential, and from the basic operating principle very pleasant.
However, I will probably get a refund, because at least in my constellation "German language", the "websites I use" and the "sentences, as I formulate them", takes more effort to ignore the wrong error messages than to find the useful ones. Linguix does detect mistakes I make, but also some that are not mistakes at all.
For instance, at the beginning of a sentence, capitalized words are marked as errors and again and again, there are complaints of spelling errors which they are not. On the other hand, it does not find obvious spelling mistakes like capitalized adjectives or non capitalized nouns.
All in all, I don't want to say that the tool is bad and certainly has potential. I wish Linguix much success in its further development. At the moment, it's not enough for me.
