Squirrly SEO: Your Path to SEO Success

I was very happy with my purchase of another product from this company, so when I saw Squirrly was back on AppSumo I decided to give it a try. The migration from my other SEO plugin was very simple. I love the Focus pages feature that helps you to focus on optimizing specific pages, one step at a time. It becomes easier after optimizing a few pages, because you learn the methodology as you progress. I also like that I can use the Cloud version to rank non WordPress sites. I am seeing an improvement in my rankings, and I am happy with my purchase.

While relatively new to SEO, I've tried a few SEO tools and I have to say Squirrly has been the only one that has made me feel like I know what I'm doing. It helps me identify what needs attention, suggests what to do and I can see and appreciate the results from those changes. I have ben able to rank my site better organically since using Squirrly - something I struggled with before.

I've not had a chance to use all the functionalities in the tool as it is quite comprehensive but, So far so good.

So far we are impressed with Squirrly. I see others complain about it being confusing, I disagree and find it well laid out with links for additional help when I need it.
Only took two minutes to install and start doing keyword research and setting up my SEO audits.

Very pleased with this purchase.

Took some time to get used to it but now that I familiarized myself with it I am very happy. This plugin is a great alternative to the paid SEO plugins that cost much more.

After using Squirrly SEO for a year, I've encountered significant limitations with their focus page system:
The platform restricts users to only 10 focus pages per site
While they offer an agency-style setup allowing 10 sites with 10 pages each, this structure is inflexible for users needing more pages per site (like 2 sites with 50 pages each)
The ranking system shows inconsistent behavior, with rankings fluctuating on each page refresh
The SEO audit feature presents contradictory results - indicating optimized elements while simultaneously showing low audit scores
There's no clear guidance on what needs improvement when audit scores are low despite positive optimization indicators
These limitations make it challenging for users managing larger websites who need comprehensive SEO tracking and optimization capabilities.

I really don't know how this app still remains popular. I bought all tiers many years ago but could never figure out why my site never ranked until I moved on to another paid SEO plugin. Squirrly is too busy and confusing. For whatever reason my schema structure would never show up properly for years on Google. Nowadays I can do all my SEO so quick and effective but I pay yearly for a better popular Plugin. Usually I don't give bad reviews but I not only wasted money but also lost so much time trying it which is invaluable.

I wanted to love. I maxed out the number of codes and bought the max - but got a refund. I thought I’d be greeted by a smart AI assistant that would take me by the hand and guide me through SEO optimization with point and click options and suggestions. Something that would clearly tell me what keywords to target, give me an honest assessment of my content, and hand over a prioritized, actionable task list that I could implement without headaches.

Instead the interface seems broken apart and clunky. I am a seasoned agency that knows SEO! And I felt stupid using this product.

1. Just not as seamlessly integrated as yoast.

2. I didn't find it doing anything special that free yoast Seo would do. It said keyword research and such...but nothing I couldn't do a million other places free. The AI would 'suggest' stuff but not even take me to a particular page to do that even when it was a suggestion on a focus page.

3. I was only allowed 10 focus pages per site. Now, it allows agency like setup and I could do 10 sites with 10 pages each, but I wanted 1 site with 100 pages. I didn't want to use as an agency.

Some of the feedback on other reviews is that it is a complex tool. I didn't find it to be complex at all. I tried to force and find all the best options and ways to use and just found it to take more time than the value it gave back.

I’ve been using the free version of Squirrly SEO for a while, and I must say, the premium version is absolutely worth it. After years of relying on RankMath – which is a fantastic and user-friendly SEO tool – I decided to switch to Squirrly SEO. Why? Because I believe it’s just as good as RankMath, if not significantly better in certain SEO aspects. The features it offers are exceptional and have already made a noticeable impact on my sites.

That said, there are a couple of areas where Squirrly SEO could improve:

1️⃣ While the design and UX aren’t bad, they aren’t top-notch either. If so many users are pointing out the need for UX improvements, I think the team should seriously consider investing time and resources into enhancing it. The tool is already fantastic, but imagine how incredible it could be with an extraordinary user experience.

2️⃣ On Tier 3, which I purchased, the limit of 10 focus pages per site feels quite restrictive. I believe it should be increased to 30 for Tier 3, 40 for Tier 4, and so on. While I understand focus pages can be changed, the process isn’t the most convenient.

On a final note, I want to say I’m the number one fan of Hide My WP Ghost, created by the same team. It’s my go-to tool for WordPress protection and security, and it has kept my sites safe for years without a single incident. The company behind these plugins has consistently proven how committed they are to delivering outstanding products that genuinely help users. They’re always improving their tools and listening to feedback, which shows they care deeply about creating the best possible experience.

Sigh... Let’s get this straight. Going into Squirrly, I was expecting an intuitive, polished interface that played nice with Oxygen Builder. I thought I’d be greeted by a smart AI assistant that would take me by the hand and guide me through SEO optimization. Something that would clearly tell me what keywords to target, give me an honest assessment of my content, and hand over a prioritized, actionable task list that I could implement without headaches.

Instead, I got a clunky, disorganized mess. The interface is chaotic, features feel slapped together without any rhyme or reason, and after slogging through five painful hours trying to make sense of it, I couldn’t stomach it anymore. Navigating this thing feels like being stuck in quicksand—every action requires clicking through at least three different menus to find what you’re looking for. It’s maddeningly slow, frustrating, and frankly not worth the time.

And let’s not ignore the English on this platform—if you can even call it that. “Do a research”? Seriously? Who thought that was acceptable? The broken language only adds to the confusion and makes an already terrible experience even worse. It’s clear this wasn’t crafted by a native speaker, and it shows.

I’m honestly baffled at how Squirrly has so many positive reviews. Are we using the same product? Or is this just some marketing smoke-and-mirrors act? Whatever it is, I’m out.

Refund requested.

I got Tier 3 of this back in 2022 and the UI is a challenge to work with. Reading the other low tacos here there seems to be a pattern that the developer isn't taking notice of. I tried using it for SEO and the overly convoluted methods to get to where you want to just tune a page are boggling. I might be just thick. It's good for basic keyword research and page schemas. I have since used other more effective tools and now only use this for the schema part of the plugin and the meta box. I wish I could just turn the rest off as for me it's not what I need. If you are in the market for this product and want tier 3 hit me up. I'll sell my account to you for a great discount. Gmail me ceejaybarnaby.

Slow. Confusing. Over wrote my meta tags, made a mess of things because it didn't play well with RankMath or Yoast. Support was like . . . hello. Hello. HELLO!

These guys have been around for a long time and it seems like they haven't updated their UX in a looooooong time, either. Like. Oh you install the program in 2024 and it doesn't think to check for Rank Math or Yoast and then say to the users, ummmm. Let's decide what to do. Do you want Squirrly to do the Rank Math stuff or just the Keyword SEO stuff????

Would have liked to have liked this program but it wasn't to be. It tries to to be too many things and then doesn't step back. I've invested a lot of time and effort into RankMath.
