Upbase.io is a work management platform that allows you to bring together all your tasks, messages, docs, files, and real-time chat into one place. It is designed to be simple and easy to use with little to no learning curve. I was able to go through their user guides in 30-45 min and got a solid understanding of the functionality.
Here are some pros and cons of Upbase.io:
Things I love:
- they nailed the selling point of keeping it simple; I have used many tools like Asana, Wrike, Monday.com, ClickUp and while they provide more extended feature set, I prefer the simplicity of upbase, as it provides my team a quick way to learn the tool and focus on what matter: our work
- Upbase.io has a deep hierarchy and simplified UI design that makes it easy to navigate and user-friendly.
- It offers a blend of functionality and aesthetics that I appreciate. Clean UX, functional and easy to understand workflows
- Upbase.io is accessible to both technical and non-technical users, thanks to its well-organized layout
- availability of a native iOS app
Cons:
- Upbase.io lacks many project management features such as time trackers and customized workflow, so if you need them then this may not be the tool for you. For me, this is a positive as I prefer the simplicity without the clutter of advanced features I will not use
- Compared to other project management tools, Upbase.io may lack the flexibility to tailor the interface to specific team preferences. Works great for me as I like the design
I would have loved to see the native iOS app expand full screen on iPad. I use an iPad PRO, and the space is not properly utilized.
There is an inconsistency in the design of operations when deleting a folder with the lists versus deleting a folder with bookmarks. The first deletes the folder and retains the lists, while the last deletes both the folder and the bookmarks. This inconsistency can lead to problems as users will likely expect consistency in operations.
Overall, this is a great tool, that will satisfy most teams, small and large. Competitively priced for what it provides with $72/year or $8/month
